Guests for the pre-wedding cocktail party arrived last night from around 8pm onwards, on the Poseidonion jetty. Crowds had been gathering since 7pm in order to get a good viewing position and police and security were making sure that they didn't step too far forward. Every time a water taxi or tender to one of the huge yachts moored out at sea, pulled up shoreside, big burly security guards would do their best to stop the crowd from lurching forwards. Journalists and photographers approached from all sides, snapping their cameras quickly and scribbling notes. One Greek reporter even had the novel idea of lighting up a long cigarette and waving it in onlookers faces and stubbing other reporters arms. I asked her, almost too kindly, to please refrain from her activities and she duly stubbed it out, before giving me a a long hard stare...

Anyway, the crowd clapped their hands in delight when Constantine of Greece's sister, Queen Sophia of Spain, arrived and she regally waved left and right before disppearing in to the Poseidonion.

Mega yachts lined the Poseidonion jetty, the biggest being 'Insignia' the private yacht of the Russian businessman and Chelsea Football Club owner, Roman Abramovich. Music had been blaring from this yacht the night before, in to the early hours of the morning and guests were spotted singing and dancing on board.

Others followed - recently married Princess Victoria of Sweden and Daniel Westling, the Royal family of Denmark and friends, but NO Prince Charles and Camilla! Rumours have been abound as to whether they will be attending but unless they turn up tomorrow for the big day, it looks like there will be no British royal appearances after all.Princess Victoria of Sweden and Daniel Westling: Arriving at the cocktail party

On leaving the Poseidonion Hotel last night, the second biggest applause from the crowd, could be heard when the Greek actress and television presenter, Zoe Laskari appeared. Zoe Laskari: Famous Greek ActressShe seemed overjoyed to provoke such a reaction and beamed at everyone around her. She was quickly hustled off by security on to a waiting  water taxi and whisked off round to the old harbour. Our 'local celebrity' Alki David was soon to be spotted making an exit too, but made his way slowly through the crowd greeting security guards and police.

Tomorrow, the big day will be yet another story with yet more rumours of Elton John, Brad Pitt, Angelian Jolie and George Clooney arriving! Watch this space :)
