For the Apokries weekend this year there was no organised carnival as such, but lots of impromptu groups of people dressing up, around the town in the Ayios Mamas area, having fun!

It was a beautiful warm and sunny weekend, and because of that, there were many more visitors to Spetses this year, including regular visitors who had flown out especially for the general Greek festivities.Boys at Apokries: playing at soldiersApokries at Ayios Mamas: High spirits

 Katheri Deftera (Clean Monday) was warm and sunny too and there were plenty of kites flying high over the Possidonian jetty, all vying with each other to get the highest position...fortunately, there was enough wind too and some reached dizzy heights indeed!

Good food was eaten by all and family and friends got together outside for some traditional 'Clean Monday plates'.
