Babylonia 01 August 2007
Last night at the Anargyrios College amphitheatre up in the hills, the Greek comedy - Babylonia - was played to a packed audience. It was a pleasure to see the amphitheatre so full, and with so many locals.
The play was presented by the prefecture of Piraeus inconjunction with the municipality of Spetses and written by D.Byzantioy. Sponsored by Star television chanel, with well known television and theatre actors, it was a unique event.
Audience
With live folk music as accompaniment, this Greek comedy certainly was a colourful spactacle and actors included G.Mortzos, G. Christodoulou, M.Yiannatos, N.Ioannidou and P.Xekoukis. Set in the 1800's and playing on the accents of the actors from various parts of Greece, it went down very well.
Babylonia setAs the audience made their way down the steps of the amphitheatre, the actors mingled with everyone and encouraged people to dance and accept a glass of local wine.
