Baltiza is an exclusive and idyllically located private house to rent, commanding a position right above the heart of the old harbour, making it the most perfect holiday location. It is air conditioned and is also fully centrally heated, and is situated on the upper floor of a large house within spacious grounds. Sleeping up to 8 persons comfortably, it is a villa that was originally a permanent home, so not only is it furnished with impeccable taste but it is also equipped with everything needed for just a two week to a two month holiday.

Its most impressive feature is its huge, front facing veranda, quite literally “A veranda with a view”… overlooking the mouth of the old harbour, where yachts and boats of all sizes are moored beneath one’s feet, and the pine-clad hills beyond, compliment the blue skies above. Certainly much time will be spent here, eating, drinking and just generally relaxing; or alternatively - in the large, comfortable living room which has a fireplace, luxurious cream sofas and numerous easy chairs (plus satellite T.V with NOVA on request).

Attached is the dining room which has a huge pine table, with seating for over ten people. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric oven, fridge and dish washer with a spacious back veranda. A separate passage way leads to two double bedded rooms with en-suite bathrooms with shower (one of which has a balcony with sea/hill views) and one twin bedded room with en-suite bathroom with shower and its own balcony. The fourth sleeping room is a cosy ‘snug/study’ just off the living room. This has a fireplace and a pull out sofa bed which converts into twin beds.

There is easy access to the lighthouse, where swimming and diving off the rocks below is possible. Spetses old harbour - known for its boat building - is where Tim Severin - film maker, author and explorer - co-ordinated the building of a twenty-oar replica of the bronze age galley, ‘The Argo’, in the early 1980’s. Like Jason's boat in the search for the Golden Fleece, the boat sailed through the Aegean sea and then along the northern coast of Turkey to Georgia, the Land of the Golden Fleece. Tim Severin and his crew stayed at Baltiza, while constructing and filming ‘The Argo’
