Laografiko Ergastiri Spetson: Traditional Folk WorkshopLaografiko Ergastiri Spetson: Traditional Folk WorkshopThe Traditional Folk Workshop of Spetses, known on the island as the ‘Laografiko Ergastiri Spetson’ (L.E.S) is a non-profit making society that was established in 2002. The purpose of the society is to research and share gained knowledge of local traditions and customs of the island.

Through this society, small groups of people with specific interests have grouped together to make one autonomous team, whose main objective is to serve the wishes and support the aims of the workshop itself. Also, within this framework, to familiarise all members and participants of the workshop with these traditions, customs and pastimes and to support and maintain them in a happy and creative environment. For all this to be achieved the society relies on the smooth running of the workshop and the goodwill of all the people involved.

The society itself is shaped by the support and participation of its members and visitors and offers a chance to share this knowledge through experience.

Sunday 29th January 2005.
