The Christmas bazaar organized by parents was held at the weekend on the Dapia with a host of delicious homemade fare, decorations and toys.There were rides for the children on the trainaki down to the old harbour which is always very popular.Christmas Train 2011 Souvlaki of course and drinks helped the festive atmosphere with music playing, fake snow blowing and the sun shining. We had been forcast bad weather but luckily it held up for the weekend climaxing with the most magnificent sunset on Sunday evening. Monday at last brought us the much needed rain which continued steadily for two days. The right sort to penetrate the starved soil. It was the perfect time for some indoor activities. We put up our tree and I made decorations from local greenery.The house was full of the smells of baking as K and I set to with making Kourabiathas and Melamakarinas - enough to feed an army. I usually make and share them with a friend but sadly she and her family are spending Christmas in England this year. We will pack on the kilos if we eat too many. They are so tempting sitting there. Its good though to give as presents to family and friends as I do my rounds with my cards. No doubt I will have to have a nibble and a tipple with each one and will wobble home.Christmas Bazaar 2011 There is lots of snow in the north as I write and storms forcast for the next few days so it will be a cosy Christmas at home ,heating on full and a good film after our turkey blowout.
