Summer Colours

There’s a definite feeling that summer has started in Greece, when swallows, swifts and house martins swirl from all around, flitting in and out of the nests that they are preparing for their young. Cicadas and grasshoppers start to ‘chirrup’ from all corners of the garden and from along the bushy waysides. Dragonflies skitter from pond to pool and the water is at last beginning to be warm enough for us all to wallow in…

Unwanted Kittens FASE

Every Spring/Summer Spetses has a major problem with kittens being thrown alive in plastic bags into rubbish bins.

13th, 14th and 15th June 2008 FASE / SPETSES - GAWF To Spetses again.

FASE SPETSES have invited once again GAWF - Greek Animal Welfare Fund to Spetses. On Friday 13/14/15 June, 2008, GAWF will be conducting a neutering programme for stray cats and dogs. We are most happy to have GAWF on the island and we hope people can help our project a little by making a donation to our Society - FASE / SPETSES to help defer our medical expenses. Thank you.

The elections then had to go to a second round, set for the following Sunday 14 November 2010. This second round was between Evvagelos Kondaxakis and Panayotis Lyrakis.

2010 - Dates for Carnival time, Lent and Easter.

Dates for Apokries (Carnival time in Greece), Kathari Dheftéra (Clean Monday or Shrove Monday) and Easter for 2010. The dates change every year and this year is no exception - however, once again, Greek Easter is the same as the western Easter.
