Patralis Fish Taverna

Patralis Fish Taverna 2.jpg

In 1935, old "Barba" Panos the fisherman, head of the family, laid the foundation of the Patralis Fish Taverna. Very rapidly, fresh fish and tasty home-cooked dishes spread the reputation of the taverna far and wide. Today, tradition continues to flourish in the hands of "Barba" Panos' descendants: his son Vassilis, and  grandsons - Nikos and Argyris, worthy heirs, offer a unique quality to all their customers.

The Patralis brothers provide such a wide range of fish all year round, that they are often referred to as "the fish bank"! Top of the list of specialities is the Lobster Spaghetti, closely followed by the Mussel Pilaf, fish soup Kakaviya, baked fish with garlic and tomato, and, of course, the famous Fish a la Spetsiota. Naturally, at Patralis, the pleasure for your taste buds doesn't stop here. Traditional cooking is properly honoured in a variety of dishes whose aromas define Greece.

After taking your pick of your favourite starters, try the Moussaka, the Papoutsakia (aubergines stuffed with mincemeat and béchamel sauce), the oven-baked lamb or the stuffed tomatoes, accompanied by red or white Greek wine, especially bottled for the Patralis family. It's a fact that, whoever spends a little time on Spetses and doesn't eat at the Patralis Fish Taverna, really hasn't experienced Spetses at all!

The Patralis Fish Taverna is open for most of the year. Generally the taverna is closed in November and December. Patralis is situated at Kounoupitsa on the sea front. During the high season you can sit outside and watch the boats and all the activity associated with the sea. Out of season, you can enjoy a different atmosphere inside the traditionally presented taverna.
