2008 FASE - June Neutering Programme - GAWF visit
GREEK ANIMAL WELFARE FUND (GAWF) NEUTERING TEAM VISIT SPETSES FOR 1ST TIME. Spetses was happy to welcome the GAWF team namely Carol McBeth and vet Amalia Koundouri in June of this year.
The team concentrated on cat colonies at the Old Harbour Boat Yards and the Upper Monastery. Our targets were reached and over 60 cats were neutered. Reports of extreme cruelty had been reported in the Old Harbour Area, and hopefully a control on numbers will help to alleviate this brutality. Fortunately GAWF were able to neuter several of the “Dapia Dogs” which should reduce the numbers of unwanted puppies on the island.
Our sincere thanks to GEORGE GABRIEL for the use of his garage & Jeep and for offering hospitality and accommodation to the Vets during their visit. FASE would like to thank the Spetses’ Council for arranging our transport permit during this busy weekend, also the Spetses Police for their co-ordination.

Unwanted Kittens FASE
Every Spring/Summer Spetses has a major problem with kittens being thrown alive in plastic bags into rubbish bins.

FASE SPETSES have invited once again GAWF - Greek Animal Welfare Fund to Spetses. On Friday 13/14/15 June, 2008, GAWF will be conducting a neutering programme for stray cats and dogs. We are most happy to have GAWF on the island and we hope people can help our project a little by making a donation to our Society - FASE / SPETSES to help defer our medical expenses. Thank you.
