I look at it often, sometimes every day.  I think you will find that once people have been to Spetses it becomes part of their lives.  I was there from November 1973 to August 1974, and stayed with the Arnaoutis family who made we feel so welcome. It was a sad time though, with the war between Greece and Turkey over Cyprus.  The awful day when war was declared and the ferries kept arriving taking all the men away to war.  The anxious days when we didn't know what was happening as all radio communication was stopped apart from military music.  I returned in 1996 and 1997 and the island was still as magical as it had always been.  I shall return again in the near future to sit again by the harbour and watch Spetses life go on. Out of all the islands I have visited it is my favourite and nothing matches the life there. Keep up the good work Lucy. Regards Polly

Dear Titania,
We wish that more people would use the site too, as we have put a lot of effort into making it a community website. It is very easy to upload photographs, information and stories and we hope that in the future people will begin to contribute more. It will benefit the island and their own businesses too.
Thanks for your contribution and your praise!

Lucy, The problem with

Lucy, The problem with getting more people to use the site is that you need to get it on search engines (like Google) and, I am afraid, that can cost! However, you have constructed a very good looking site here and I congratulate you for it's content and appearance. I helped write the review of Spetses for www.tripadvisor.com and I have recommended spetsesdirect on their forum. Keep up the good work. Keith

Thank you

Dear Keith - thanks for the TripAdvisor review. We are number one or two on Yahoo or Google if you search for Spetses, Spetses Island or Spetses Island Greece and we wage a constant battle to keep the site high in the serps by tweaking the keywords etc. But Lucy's biggest battle on Spetses is getting visitors and the other locals in the area to actively add content to the site or at least tell her about what's going on so she can do it for them. So our next development push is to make the site much more user friendly and "encouraging" of user participation. However you adding a link to us from an external site especially a big one like TripAdvisor is really invaluable to help improve our page ranking - so again - a BIG thank you - regards Kelsey (MD LITKO)

I think you should send

I think you should send email or actual letters to the main Greek guidebooks -- Frommer's, Rough Guides, Lonely Planet, Fodors, and others -- telling them about this web site. Emphasize that it is a community resource for everyone interested in Spetses and not a site for one particular business. Most of those books now days have listings of web sites relevant to various destinations. You can usually get contact information from the books themselves (not usually from the web sites.)
