Spetses is dominated by the Greek Orthodox Church and the year is punctuated by religious festivals which inspite of their serious nature, add an undeniably exciting atmosphere to island life on a regular basis with many colourful parades after church services. Visitors are more than welcome to watch and to a certain degree take part in some of the traditions particularly with carnival (Apokries) and Paska (Orthodox Easter).
During the high season, from April to October, there are many cultural exhibitions and other activities, and the Municipality is responsible for the Armata festival in September.
Throughout the year there are lots of live music shows at various bars and clubs.
You'll find advertising posters plastered all over the town and most events are free of charge to attend.
