I worked as a representative for Apollo in Spetses in 1993. It was a great time and a great Island. Unfortunately i have lost contact with Tricia Geddes from Bardakos Tours. If you see this i hope you are doing well and i wish you all the best. Claus

My first ever holiday abroad was to Spetses in 1978 and I returned for 4 consecutive years. The island made a huge impression on me and I've never forgotten it and I treasure my photos of those years. And now finally I'm hoping to return to celebrate a significant birthday, with my husband who has never been to the island but who has heard me talking about it. I'm so excited but also nervous as I'm sure there will have been many changes. I'm so pleased to have found this website as it will bring me up-to-date with island life.

Hi John, I am sorry but I didn't get to check this site again before we left on our trip. We were on Spetses on the 13th - 20th September. We should have met up. We had a great time there. We found Andonis Badakas, Takis, Nauti George, young Agis (who is now not so young), Kosta and Monica from Il Padrino - it was great to see all thse old faces. The island has had a lot of money into it but is still great. My son and I rode around the island a few times, went to Lampara (now Kaiqi Beach), most of the beaches and we said hello to Tims old Landlord. So many memories! I hope you enjoyed being back. Cheers John

John from Airlink

John! Hi! Don't suppose you remember me, but I remember you and Pam in the glory days of Laskarina/ Airlink etc. I came to Spetses regularly from 1980 onwards with Airlink to see my Greek boyfriend and friends on the island. I came to Skiathos with my [British] fiance after that when you had the restaurant in the converted windmill and we had a meal there. Good to hear you are ok. We have been married ever since just after Skiathos and live in Surrey. We have a 14 year old daughter, Sofia and still travel to Greece as much as we can afford, Kefalonia, Zakynthos, last summer in Pefkos in Rhodes. Pelion looks beautiful. Have a vivid memory of oversleeping on departure morning in Spetses and you having to pick me up from Bouzoubardi Studio[with its antiquated bathroom] on your moped.

Hey John & Nicky

Just came upon this site while dreaming about days gone by and didn't expect to see anyone I knew. We spent some great times together, I was with Mick at the time and I remember the chocolate cake that Nicky and I made which just collapsed when we took it out of the oven and I have the photo...was it a birthday? I had the best time in Spetses, I feel we were so lucky to have spent those summers there with all those lovely fun people, talk about living the perfect life. So pleased to hear that you are still happy together and you may well be in Spetses as we speak. I believe Selina settled there. Would love to hear from you. Heather

Hi John. I tried to reply a couple of days ago but don't know if you saw it. My ex (Pam) and I worked on Spetses 1985/6/7 out of Takis office after holidaying with Laskarina in 1984. I'm coming back with my new Dutch partner 8-15 Sept, staying with Susan at Mexis. When are you coming? Did Nicky rep for Lakarina on Skopelos? Hope to catch up with you Regards John Dance

Returning in September

Hi there!, this is John Previtera and worked on Spetses in 1982 and 1983 for Laskarina Travel. I met my wife, Nicky Carnegie there and we still happily married and living in Sydney Australia. Nicky's Dad is Tim Carnegie, all of of you around at that time will remember him I'm sure - generous man and a big fan of the Soliel Bar and the Kahlia. He had long hair and a beard and rode around a racing bike. I have great memories of Takis, Tssoula, Bobos, Captain George and Buggy Yannis. I too had some of the best times of my life on Spetses. Anyway we are coming back to Spetses in September 2011 and can't wait. It has been a long time and I can't expect things to be the same but it will great fun to wander around with my kids! I hope I can still break a few plates. John,

Hi there! My name is Sherri Dodgson and my great-grandfather came to the US from Spetses. My mother's last name is Patrenos and her grandfather was Dimitris Patrenos (immigrated in 1907?), and the son of Pondalee Patrinos. My mother visited Spetses in 1992 and I can't wait to visit there some day. it looks absolutely beautiful. If anyone has any info to share with me, it would be greatly appreciated.
I will return one day.

My first sight of Spetses was from a water taxi after a bit of a strange journey from Aegina. It was my first week working for Thomson Holidays and I'd being sent from Aegina to work on Spetses for the season (1988). I fell in love with this amazing island the second I set foot on her. The best times of my life were spent there. I have so many stories to tell about the 2 and a bit years I spent there and the amazing people I met. Takis (my father) he's only about 7 years older than me but the magnitude of the man demands I view him has this, Tassula, Bobos, Mama, Denzil (GRHS) and all the other reps and fellow workers I met along the way. I now live in Cyprus! Why? I love it nearly, almost but never has much but I can buy bacon when I want it! I will return one day and will probably spend the first 2 days crying. Pete xx (to Spetses) a very very very special place.

Spetses Memories. Hi Georiga, My first holiday to Spetses was in 1985 I had three more holidays between then and 1991. Last year I celebrated a significant birthday and over the years I had promised myself I would return to Spetses. I returned after nineteen years and it was wonderful. Lots of changes but I loved it as much as I did the first time I was there and am returning again this year. It is my little piece of heaven on earth and nothing can spoil memories. You will be so glad you returned.

Hi Georgia I returned to Spetses last year after nineteen and like you I was very nervous. It has changed in that it is much busier but you will love it just as much as you did all those years ago. It's my little piece of heaven on earth. I am returning again this year. You will enjoy every minute of you visit
