Greek Independence Day

This year is a very special day. It marks 200 years of Greek Independence from 1821 - 2021. 

It is such a shame that it cannot be celebrated in Spetses or the rest of Greece, due to Coronavirus. There will be numerous virtual celebrations.

Greek Orthodox Easter

30 April - 2 May 2021

There will be no official Easter celebrations due to the Coronavirus.

May Day

1 May 2021

Traditional May wreaths made and hung on front doors.

Pentecost/Ayios Pnevmatos

20 June 2021

Orthodox Pentecost is celebrated 50 days after Greek Easter. The feast usually lasts for 3 days (Sunday - Tuesday) with a bank holiday on Whit Monday. Visitors start arriving in Spetses on the Friday.

Saints Day: Ayia Marina
