Greek donkeys are usually smaller in size than the donkeys we see in the UK. In Greece they are a common sight on the landscape and are most often used for agricultural purposes or to get around
on. Usually in the more traditional places, such as 'out of the way' villages. On some Greek islands they are used as 'taxi's' for tourists and have to navigate narrow and often steep streets.
In Spetses however, they are usually found grazing in the hills or on small farm holdings. It is quite a rare sight these days to find locals using them to get from A to B, but now and again an older
person may be spotted trotting along a dusty road complete with baskets of produce on their flanks.
